Bowls-Scotland stage competitions that give opportunities to bowlers of any age. They organise matches across Scotland and give lawn bowlers a chance to play in different parts of Scotland. All bowling clubs hold competitions for members and gives them a chance to gain experience and improve their game.

England has well in excess of 2,000 clubs and is now growing in membership. Bowls is not and expensive game. A set of bowls will not wear out and you can have then for 20 years or more. Play The Game
The object of bowls is simple. It is played on grass outdoors -lawn bowls or on a carpet indoors. The playing area is usually divided into lanes or rinks and Bowlers take turns to bowl and try to get the bowl near the small white bowl which is a jack. If you get nearer the jack than the opposition, then one point is scored for each bowl nearest to the jack. Lawn Bowls have a bias which means the bowl will travel in a curve, so a bit of adjustment must be taken into consideration. This makes it fun.
